Smokefree Bristol Alliance

Bristol is one of a number of cities and towns across Britain working towards becoming a Smokefree Community. We aim to protect the public from the harm of second-hand smoke, and help smokers to quit if they want to.

What has been achieved?

  • Smokefree legislation has massively reduced people’s exposure to secondhand smoke in most enclosed workplaces and public places

What does the Smokefree Bristol Alliance aim to achieve?

  • Further cut down second-hand smoke. It's about helping the city council, the health service, the voluntary sector and businesses, to establish smoking policies that protect workers who are still exposed from smoke
  • Encourage parents to protect their children from second-hand smoke
